Inspiring Contrasts in Décor

Surface design becomes dynamic when powerful roughness meets formal lightness: In line with current interior trends, the themes of the new Interprint décors range from saw-cut look to pearwood elegance.

More profile, depth and emotion: Many furniture surfaces at the large trade fairs in Cologne and Milan showed strong character. Within the scope of the ‘Milan Review’, the colour and shape trends of the season were presented with the latest Interprint décors at a photo session at the Design Post Cologne. Eye catchers are currently rough, almost cracked wood structures in a ‘Back to Nature’ trend because they emphasise the sensuality of the material. A major feature is that they form an exciting counterweight to minimalistic interior design with smooth surfaces and reduced shapes. Interprint has dedicated a new line for this current trend in a collection featuring décors with a saw-cut look.

The ‘Walk the Line’ oak décor radiates rough charm. The saw cuts in this décor run across the grain of the solid wood. The surface shows fine, gentle lines despite this roughness. The elegant effect is supported by a waxed and oiled look that brings both light and dark colours to the fore. The décor offers inspiring combinations: As striking furniture fronts in dark colours, ‘Walk the Line’ forms an exciting contrast to smooth surfaces or light soft upholstery. And in an interior design with cold metallic elements, furniture with this surface shows power and naturalness.

The ‘Cimba Oak’ décor also confidently shows the imperfections of its saw-cut look. Open pores, saw-cut roughness and irregular structures give the décor a striking grain. A slight liming of the saw cuts strengthens the 3-D effect. ‘Cimba Oak’ offers good combination possibilities with glass, plastic and stainless steel, especially in the dark colour range; it’s a structure that goes very well with today’s trendy large-size furniture.

Surfaces with striking features are not the only trend that promises success for the next season: the always-popular harmonious structures stand in visual contrast. ‘Pera Padua’ is a new décor in Interprint’s pearwood collection. Stripes, flowery swirls and light lines combine so elegantly that the décor can be used in almost any room of the home. In the light colour range, ‘Pera Padua’ surprises by its filigree lightness. In the trendy grey shades, the décor gives furniture fronts and bodies an unobtrusive, modern feel. A décor for a feeling of well-being.

White continues to be a major trend colour, especially for kitchens. The ‘Santino’ stone décor conjures up nobility on worktops, furniture fronts and floors through its light clarity. The quiet surface becomes interesting due to a rough grain that also produces a depth effect. And against such a light backdrop, contrasting furniture and accessories harmonise well in the room. ‘Santino’ represents a further trendsetting décor in the collection with which Interprint once again brings the most important furnishing themes into focus.
